July 4th & 24th

I know the 4th of July was awhile ago, but I thought I would combine the two holidays. The 4th was kind of weird for us this year, being on a Sunday and all. We didn't know what parades and fireworks were when and so we ended up not even going to a parade this year. I was really sad about it too! I did grab a few fireworks at the local firework stand and we did some fireworks at our house on the 4th of July.
Mya and daddy getting ready to do some Snaps. I really think that this is Mya's favorite part of doing fireworks, the Snaps
Jesse really got into it too

Sparklers!!!!
And the real fireworks began
Me and the kids! Jesse was very afraid of the fireworks, can you tell?!? Jesse did not like them at all. Usually, Mya loves fireworks but when Scott lit up the one called Killer Bees, both kids were screaming with tears running down their faces. I feel bad even saying this but Scott and I were both laughing and thinking "why are we doing this if both kids are crying?" We realized later that Mya thought that there was going to be REAL killer bees coming out of that firework. Looking back, we feel a little guilty for laughing.

Such a cute girl!!
The next morning, on the 5th of July, Mya and I woke up really early and went water skiing with my brother and his family. Mya loved playing with her cousin Makena and riding in the boat. Thanks Shane and Malia for inviting us, we had so much fun!!
Mya and Makena in the boat
A little bit later we met up with my sister Jeanne and her family. By this point the water was so rough that we couldn't ski any more, so we pumped up the tube. Mya had a great time on the tube.

Mya had so much fun that she wanted to ride again but she did not want me to come at all. She wanted to go all by herself, such a big girl.

Mya did not want to leave to go home, so Uncle Shane let her drive the boat so she would be sad any more. Mya LOVED it!!
July 24th
On the 24th of July we were torn of what to do. We almost went to the Rodeo, but we figured that it would have been a pretty crazy night and Jesse probably would not have sat there very long. Next year for sure!! More fireworks at home but this time we had some company. Scott's family all came over, it was a lot of fun!!

Jesse would stand very still while the fireworks were going and then as soon as it was over he would run in place and clap his hands. He is so cute!

I don't have pictures yet but in June I ran the RAGNAR Wasatch Back Relay with my sister, Jeanne, and a few of her friends. It was SO MUCH FUN!! I hope to get pics soon so I can post them. I love running and this race really pushed me to my max. It was hard but so rewarding. Pictures coming soon!

Dance Recital

Mya had her first dance recital on June 22nd. Mya did a great job and it was so much fun watching her up on stage. We were not able to bring cameras to the actual recital but I did snap a few shots during the dress rehearsal.

Mya in her adorable dress
I was encouraged by the dance studio to put make-up on Mya for the recital. It was so weird doing Mya's make-up and I hope that we don't have to have the conversation about Mya putting on make-up for a LONG time. I have to admit putting mascara on Mya's long lashes was pretty fun though.

Pretty Girl

Mya and a few of her classmates patiently waiting for their turn to practice their dance, Baby Take a Bow.

Not everyone did what they were supposed to and Mya sure did notice.

Jump, jump, jumping!!!

And kicks!!

Such cute little girls!! I am glad that Mya is having so much fun in dance classes!
Thanks to Teacher Kelley for all her hard work.

Swim lessons!!

In May, Mya had her first swim lessons!! She did so good. Mya learned how to blow bubbles with her mouth under the water, to do the back float, and she even will put her nose under the water now. We are so proud of how brave Mya was during swim lessons. Mya was very nervous about the water when she started but by the end of the 2 weeks she was so comfortable, I am so glad that we did swim lessons. Mya wants to swim all the time and all by herself. Good Job Bug!!

Poor Jesse had to sit through Mya's lessons and he was such a good boy

A little get away....

to Park City!!!

A few weekends ago, we went to Park City with the kids for 2 nights. We had so much fun!! We did not have any plans or expectations for the trip and it was GREAT! Mya was very excited to go stay in a hotel but also a bit nervous. I told her that we were going to stay 2 nights and she said "How about we stay 45 minutes?" Mya was most excited to play in the swim pool. She had just gotten done taking swimming lessons and she was so excited to swim all by herself (with the assistance of floaties, of course).
Mya and Jesse

After we got all settled in, we went to Scott and I favorite place to eat in Park City, Baja Cantina. It was delicious!! When we got back to the hotel Scott and Jesse were having a great time playing peek-a-boo with Scott's hat.

Cute Mya
Mya could not wait another minute to go swimming, so as soon as our food was settled we were off to the pool.
Jesse liked playing with his turtle both in and out of the swimming pool.
Getting ready to swim, thanks Daddy. I just love Mya's cute smile!!
All ready
One last picture with mom and Jesse.
Mya swimming all by herself, so proud!!
Jesse and Mya loved playing in the water. The great thing about swimming is it made our kids so tired that they slept wonderfully when we got back to our room.
The next morning, we went down to the continental breakfast that the hotel offered and it was so good. Mya hanging out in her BIG bed that she got to sleep in all by herself. She didn't even want me to lay by her like a usually do at home every night. I guess she is a big kid now.

Jesse playing in his bed.
The next stop was the Outlets for some shopping. You cannot go to Park City without going to the Outlets to shop, seriously. We found some really cute things for the kids, I LOVE the Outlets. We must have worn the kids out from swimming and shopping cause as soon as we got back to our room, Mya and Jesse took a nap for about 2 hours. I have to admit that Scott and I were not complaining.
Sooo sleepy

Swimming, swimming and more swimming. It seems like that is all we did on our trip but the kids loved it!!!

Daddy and the kids
Reading books before bed.
And then for some reason, I do not know why, Scott decided to take pictures of all of our eyes.
You gotta love those lashes
Even his eyes smile
I really don't know what I was doing
CRAZY EYES
I love my kids!!!
Swimming again!
Mya doing the back float.
Jesse loved playing on the stairs but I had to have a hand on him at all times.
Brother and Sister
We had such a great time. It was the first time that we have gone on a vacation with just our little family. Loved it and plan on doing it again.
