Summer.....

This summer has gone by way too fast!! We have had so much fun and I haven't had time to blog about any of it. So here is a super long post about our summer.
Of course we spent a lot of time at the park. It gets a bit crazy when both kids take off in different directions but mom is the only one who is worried when that happens.

Cute girl!!

Jesse loves bridges

This is what he did pretty much the whole time

Mya is a climber, she has taught her brother well

Just last year this spinning thing would terrify Mya but now she LOVES it. Makes me dizzy just looking at the picture.

Lots of running through the sprinklers on HOT days

Picnics in the backyard

Our dog, Toby, thought it was too hot and found some shade

Such cute kids!

Hanging out with Toby

Swimming in the backyard

One night we went o Winger's for dinner and I had to snap this adorable picture of Mya and Daddy. It is with my cell phone so not the best but still cute.

Mya is into taking pictures these days and I love this one of Jesse and me.

Mya and Jesse love to watch shows together.

Pool party at Aunt Trisha's house. Trish has a big pool too and for some reason I didn't take one picture of the big kids in that pool. Mya playing with her cousins.
Sawyer

Makena

This is where Jesse played most of the day

And a little time in the pool

Cute girl

Snack break, eating watermelon with mommy

Jesse wearing Mommy's glass, too silly

On July 31st, Scott rode his bike in the Tour de Park City. We made him this sign and just missed him cross the finish line by a few minutes. I feel bad cause this is the only picture I took on his big day.

It is not summer without cherries!! We ate a lot of cherries.

And homemade pizzas.

We have had so much fun and I am so sad that the summer will be over soon!

Swingset

At the first of August we bought a swingset for the kids!! We were so excited to pick it up and get it put together. Needless to say, that is easier said than done. The picking up part was not too bad, thanks to the help of my very nice brother. The putting together was another story. It ended up taking us just about 5 days to put together because I had to wait until Scott got home from work and with the kids it was kind of tricky.

All of the many, many pieces

The sure was a lot of this too!

Jesse hanging out by the slide

Mya was super excited to have her own swingset, she was a very good girl and extremely patient.

The kids loved playing on the slide while we worked.

Not done yet, but we are getting there

We did put the swings up so the kids could at least have a little fun.

Jesse learning to swing on his tummy

I think that he liked it

Love this picture

Hooray!!!! We finally finished.

So HAPPY!

Mya really likes the binoculars. Whenever we hear an airplane, which is about every 47 seconds at our house, Mya runs up to the binoculars to check it out.

Slidin'

The slide is super fast and it is bumpy so Jesse basically flies off the end and lands on his bottom. He doesn't like it but I make him hold my hand when he goes down.

Got Day

Yesterday, was Jesse's Got Day!!! This means that one year ago yesterday we brought Jesse home. I cannot believe that it has already been a year and then I cannot remember a time without our sweet little boy. We have heard other adoptive families talk about their children's Got Days. Mya's Got Day is the day after her birthday, we have always said "It is Mya's Got Day today" but never really celebrated it. It has been very different with Jesse, because we didn't know that Jesse was going to be apart of our family until Jesse's Got Day. I LOVE Jesse's birthday and get so excited for it, but one year ago yesterday to me was the day that I finally got to be in Jesse's life! It feels like just yesterday that my caseworker called me to tell us that we had been chosen to adopt again and that we needed to be at the agency at 7 o'clock that evening. I remember Mya was taking her nap and I was talking on the phone to Scott when I noticed that our caseworker was calling on the other line. I remember our caseworker explaining that the baby was 5 months old and if we were okay with that. And then she told me that his name was Jesse, I started to cry, I knew that this was our little boy. After running around to find gifts, buying diapers and formula, meeting and visiting with Jesse's birth mother, we were finally able to have a few minutes alone with Jesse. It was an emotional moment holding Jesse for the first time. Jesse took a little while to get to our family but we could not be happier that he is here now. We love you Jesse!!
Mya loved Jesse from the moment the I told her about her little brother.

Isn't he just the cutest little boy that you have ever seen?

This is Jesse's new game, climbing on my bench and then sliding off the side.

Mya took this picture yesterday, she loves to take pictures!!!
Maybe Mya will be a photographer one day.

Playing with his ball!

Last night we went to Cold Stone for ice cream to celebrated Jesse's Got Day!!
Love our kids! We are so blessed, I don't know if we deserve it but we are SO HAPPY these little spirit found us.
