Mya's new big bed

Last Friday Mya got her very own big girl bed. She is loving it!!! When Scott got it all put together Mya said "Big like mommy and daddy's bed." Mya's new bedding has Ladybugs on it. I bought it a while ago but we never got around to getting her a twin bed, until now. She has been anxiously waiting to see her ladybug bed. Now I just need to get a few decorations for the walls.
Mya is growing up so fast and it seems that she has grown up even more since Jesse has arrived. She is such a good big sister and is always willing to get me diapers, blankets or whatever I may need. Mya has adjusted to our huge change so well and I am so proud of her. It is so weird to see her as the big sister! We are so happy that Jesse was able to find his way to us. And we are thrilled that Mya has a sibling.

Random Pictures

I just wanted to start out by saying Thank You to everyone for keeping us in your prayers while we were waiting to adopt Jesse. It was an emotional, crazy and fun week, but I have to admit that we are glad that everything is signed and taken care of now!! We will be able to be sealed to Jesse in February and we are so excited! It will be a great day.
I am having a hard time finding any time to blog anymore..I wonder why! Here are some pictures of the past couple weeks. Mya found a potato bug outside and she was so excited!! She LOVES bugs!! I don't understand it. Mya put him in a bowl and carried him around for hours.
Mya would give the potato bug kisses and say "I love you potato bug." It was too cute.

Mya give Jesse a ride in the swing. What a good big sister!!

These are my favorite pj's. They have monkeys on the feet.

Mya eating lunch in her ladybug costume. Sometimes it is just easier to let her wear it and be done. Pick your battles, right!

Introducing Jesse

My life has been turned upside down and the best part is I am LOVING it!!! Things are going really good. So, here is the story: On Tuesday about 3 o'clock in the afternoon I got a phone call from my caseworker at LDS Family Services. She told me that a birthmother had chosen us but it is not a typically situation. Jesse is 5 months old and right now we are fostering him until hopefully next week we can adopt him. We are hopeful that things will work out but please keep us in your prayers! Jesse birthmother, Joey, wanted to meet with us Tuesday night at 7 and she wanted us to bring him home that night. We were so excited. We met with Joey, her boyfriend and her best friend that has been helping Joey with Jesse. Joey said that our profile was the first one that they saw and she took some other home but never even looked at them. This picture is the first one of us at the agency.

When we got home Mya was so excited to meet her new baby brother. She just would give him kiss after kiss. Jesse also thought Mya was pretty cool.

All ready for bed, Jesse is such a good sleeper. He woke up once that first night and then went back to sleep after about 15 minutes. Just one of the nice things about not having a newborn.

The next morning, Mya came into our room about 7 o'clock and the first thing she said to me was "Where is the baby mommy?" It was so cute! Jesse slept until 8:30, it was great! Right before I took this picture Mya was kissing Jesse and saying to him "I love you Jesse". I seriously had tears in my eyes. We are so blessed.

Mya is showing Jesse how she eats breakfast.

The cutest and sweetest little boy ever!

My heart is so FULL!!! I feel so proud to be the mom of these 2 wonderful children. I never thought that I would fall in love with Jesse so fast. Scott and Jesse have a very special bond. Jesse eyes light up every time Scott walks into the room and as soon as Scott talks to Jesse, Jesse gets a huge smile on his face. Well, both kids are asleep I better go get in the shower!!

Okay, mommy's turn

Just a little funny story about Mya. Today Mya and I went to the bank. We were in line at the drive through and there was one car in front of us and a few cars all around us. And Mya said to me "lots of cars mommy" and I said "yeah, tell them to hurry up". So this is what she said "hurry up, hurry up cars" pause "okay, mommy's turn". Mya is so cute, always looking out for mommy. Making sure that mommy gets her turn. Such a sweet little girl!

Dancing Week #2

So we had another successful dance class today. I figured that Mya would have fun in these class but to be totally honest, I am having a BLAST! I love dancing around with her and most of all I love seeing Mya having a wonderful time. I took my camera with me this week and I was trying to be discreet so I would not interrupt the class, so the pictures are not the best quality. We sing a song to take attendance each week and Mya has been singing it ever since we got home. It goes like this: (please excuse my spelling, I am just guessing) Hickely, bickely bumble bee won't you tell your name to me. Mya, Mya that's my name. We go around the circle and everyone gets to put their name into the song. I am so loving being able to spend this time with Mya. She has such a fun personality.

At the begining of class Mya gets to chose a star and she puts it on the ground so she can remember where she is suppose to stand.

I LOVE this picture, I can't believe it turned out so good!

Dancing with the bears

Taking a rest before tumbling starts

Mya has been practing her somersaults all week and her practice payed off. I did not make her practice this was all on her own. Mya is by FAR the best at doing somersaults in her class. I don't say that just because I am her mom, the teacher even noticed how good she was. Good work Little Bug!!

Update

A few weeks ago we had some family pictures taken of us so we could update our adoption profile with LDS Family Services. We haven't updated our pictures with LDS Family Services in about a year. Mya has changed so much and my wonderful husband has lost a TON of weight! I am so proud of him. So here are some of my favorite pictures of our little family. We hope and pray that we can add to our family soon!

Dancing

Yesterday was Mya's first dance lessons! I took this video and pictures right before we left.

We had so much fun at our first Tot and Mom dance class. We started out by dancing to a Zoo song and we danced like different animals. For example: elephants, cats, monkeys, and frogs. Then we moved on the dancing with a stuffed bear, Mya really had fun with her bear. Next, we did a little stretching exercise. We sat on the ground with our legs opened and we made pizzas. We rolled the dough and added lots of toppings. We had a jumping game and then it was off to tumbling. Mya LOVED this part. We jumped on the trampoline, did somersaults (which I didn't know if Mya knew how and she did awesome), and we ran up a big foam wedge and then jumped off the end. Mya was having so much fun in the tumbling area that I just stood back and let her do her thing. She did so good and she listened to the teacher the best of all the children. At least I thought so, but I am her mom :D. Mya got a stamp on her hand for doing a good job at dance. She was so excited about her stamp. We were headed to go swimming after dance and she informed me that she didn't want to get her hand wet. I think she was concerned that her stamp would wash off, which it did. We had a wonderful time at the pool too.

This past weekend we went and stayed at Scott's sister Michelle's house in Manti. We don't get to see Scott's sister and her family very often so we (Scott's brother Bobby and his family and Scott's sister Julie and her husband) went to visit for the weekend. It was fun to see all the little girls play. We really didn't do much but hang out around the house and chat, it was great. On the way home we stopped by Scott's Grandparents houses in Levan and Nephi. It was wonderful to get to see them again. Grandma and Grandpa Jarrett gave us some fresh peas, carrots, potatoes and lettuce from their garden. Mya has already eaten all the peas and carrots, Thank you Grandma and Grandpa Jarrett. I was so busy having fun that I forgot to take pictures of the weekend, sorry.
